Mahzen, the much loved spot in the heart of Mdina, is celebrating its first year since opening with the launch of a brand new menu and a range of fresh new offerings for visitors.
Situated right next the the Knights Museum, Mahzen has quickly become a go to stop when exploring Malta’s Silent City. Over the past yeas. it has built a strong following by combining traditional Maltese culture with contemporary flavours, all within a warm and character filled setting.
To mark the one year milestone, Mahzen has unveiled a new menu featuring a tempting selection of freshly made pastries, prepared by Chef Agustin Gardella and led by Executive Chef Clint Grech. The menu includes homemade croffins, flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, cinnamon rolls, and a range of gourmet pastizzi with different flavour options such as ‘carbonara’, along with other tasty treats inspired by both local and international influences.

The drinks menu has also been refreshed, with new additions such as matcha lattes, premium coffee, and a selection of local beer and wine, making it the perfect spot to take a break while wandering through Mdina’s historic streets.
A big part of Mahzen’s appeal is its distinctive interior. The space is filled with traditional Maltese items, antique signs, tools, and nostalgic nick nacks, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that reflects Malta’s rich heritage. The experience is further enhanced by the il-Lokal shop within Mahzen, an artisanal gift space featuring unique crafts and locally inspired products, giving visitors the opportunity to take home a small piece of Malta.
Whether visiting Mdina for the first time or stopping by as a local, Mahzen continues to offer a fun, flavourful, and memorable experience that brings together the best of Maltese tradition with a modern twist.
