Nothing speaks louder than the thoughts and opinions of those who sit at your table and experience everything your restaurant has to offer. On 8 December 2025, outlets from The Xara Collection proudly joined the 150 outstanding restaurants featured in the 2026 edition of The Definitively Good Guide Malta and Gozo, an honour based on authentic diner votes. This recognition is determined through a comprehensive survey evaluating guest satisfaction, value for money and overall impressions, making it one of the most meaningful acknowledgements on the islands.
There is no doubt that de Mondion securing the position of Top Overall Restaurant for 2026 and leading the guide’s rankings is a major achievement we are incredibly proud to celebrate. Yet the evening offered several additional standout moments that reflected the dedication and passion across our Xara family.
Leaving the ceremony with de Mondion not only earning the title of Best Overall Restaurant title, but also receiving the award for Best Food in the Maltese Islands and being recognised as one of the three EcoCook Malta Certified restaurants, was a remarkable accomplishment. These honours underscore the team’s unwavering commitment to sustainable, responsible and forward-thinking culinary practices, values that lie at the heart of The Xara Collection.
Seated alongside the de Mondion team were Trattoria AD1530, Rosami and OKAs at The Villa, each earning notable placements within their respective categories and a well deserved position in the guide. Trattoria AD1530 also impressed by ranking among the Top 20 Overall Restaurants of the Maltese Islands. We would also like to extend our warmest congratulations to one of our very own, Hosea Tabone of the Rosami team, who received the ‘Promising Young F&B Maître of the Year’ award, sponsored by the Institute of Tourism Studies.
This year’s results represent a collective triumph for The Xara Collection, and we are immensely proud of every member of our team whose hard work and dedication made this achievement possible.
